Nijdhan is designed so your financial plan stays on your device.
Stored on your device
Portfolio holdings, expenses, goals, household members, and settings in localStorage.
CAS / demat PDFs and passwords are processed in-memory in the browser to decrypt and parse — they are not uploaded to Nijdhan servers.
Optional JSON / Excel backups you download stay wherever you save them.
Sample-data mode uses sessionStorage only and does not overwrite your real saved plan.
Network calls (optional / on demand)
Stock quotes — when you refresh live prices, ticker symbols (not quantities or values) are requested via our proxy at /api/yahoo (Yahoo Finance). Amounts and names are not sent.
Mutual fund NAVs — scheme codes are fetched from mfapi.in when you refresh. Holding amounts are not sent.
Analytics (if enabled) — cookie-free, Plausible-compatible page/event counts. Never financial amounts, names, or file contents.
Google Drive sync (optional) — only if you connect it. Your plan is encrypted on your device (AES-GCM, with a passphrase only you know) and saved as a single file in a visible “Nijdhan” folder in your own Google Drive. Nijdhan asks only for access to the files it creates (drive.file), cannot read anything else in your Drive, and its servers never receive your data or passphrase. Disconnect anytime; otherwise your data stays on your device.
Feedback, ratings and “Was this helpful?” answers leave your device only when you tap Send (or 👍/👎). They carry only what you typed plus the app build, page, language and device/screen size — never your financial data.
Inside the app, open Internet calls in the sidebar to see every external request from the current session.
What we do not do
We do not upload your CAS PDFs or backup files to our servers.
